I became hospitalist physician this May. A hospitalist provides care to patients who do not have a primary care doctor to follow them while in the hospital and for patients under the care of a specialist who need broader medical supervision while in the hospital.

Ideally I would have made this switch in July or August when it is easier to bring in new doctors to a practice. I was very fortunate to find a position which became available here in Chico as our local group of hospitalist physicians needed to expand their group. Unfortunately they needed to expand earlier than my July or August target.

I had a wonderful practice at Argyll with patients that I've become very close to over the past four years. As my family has grown and changed their needs have become greater than I can accommodate while maintaining the practice.

The most common question I hear from patients is "where do I go now?" We've been working to make your most attractive option one where you're simply able to stay right where you are. We are in the process of reviewing resumes of physicians interested in the practice. We tried to get a temporary provider to cover until a full time provider can be found and have been unsuccessful.
